Mr. Smith is Senior Vice President of The Kafafian Group, Inc. His specialties include setting up client-specific performance measurement models and operations consulting engagements. He has over 30 years experience in the banking industry, including the following positions: President of Profit Solutions, a consulting firm which provided specialized software, profitability measurement and consulting services to financial institutions; Vice President/Department Head of Financial Services at Lloyds Bank California (now BancWest); Project Manager of Profitability Measurement at Security Pacific National Bank (now Bank of America); and six years in various operations and accounting-related positions at a community bank in Akron, Ohio. These assignments led to substantial experience in banking, as well as specialized skills in the design and development of profitability measurement systems, with a particular emphasis on the implementation of activity-based costing methodologies.

He is a graduate of Bowling Green State University with a BSBA degree in Business and Economics, and completed post-baccalaureate studies in accounting at the University of Akron. Mr. Smith is a frequent speaker on bank profitability-related topics in various forums and workshops.
